Build a strong foundation in painting with this comprehensive eight-week acrylic painting course taught by Niko!

Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or looking to strengthen your artistic skills, this beginner-friendly course provides a supportive, approachable introduction to the fundamental concepts of painting. Carefully sequenced lessons build on one another week by week, giving you the time to develop your skills, gain confidence, and create paintings with intention. Through guided instruction, demonstrations, and weekly projects, you'll build a strong technical foundation while learning the essential skills needed to create successful paintings.

Throughout the course, students will explore essential painting concepts including color theory, composition, value, brush techniques, color mixing, and other core painting fundamentals. Each lesson builds on the previous week's skills, culminating in a finished landscape painting that showcases everything you've learned.

Students may register for the complete eight-week course for $480 ($60 per class) or attend individual sessions for $75 per class. Because each lesson builds on the previous one, the full course offers the best experience for students who want to develop lasting painting skills. All painting supplies are included during class. Students only need to bring a mixed media sketchbook for notes, exercises, and color studies.

This course is designed for students ages 15 and up. If you miss a class, no makeup sessions will be offered; however, detailed lesson instructions will be emailed so you can stay on track with the rest of the course.

By the end of the eight weeks, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of painting fundamentals, a completed landscape painting, and the confidence to continue developing your artistic practice long after the course ends.

Meet Your Instructor:

This workshop is being taught by Nikolette Robertson. You can call her Niko! Her primary medium is oil paint, but close second is gouache. She is passionate about creating spaces where everyone can tap into their creative side and experiment without the pressure being judged. Niko hosts a variety of different classes in Denton each month. When she isn't painting in her studio, you can find her trying all the best soup dumplings in DFW and spending time outside with her husband, daughter and dog.
