7/24 - Barn Quilt Painting

7/24 - Barn Quilt Painting
Date: Thursday, July 24th
Time: 6-8pm
Location: The Dime Store (118 E McKinney St, Denton, TX)
Join us for a creative and colorful workshop where you’ll design and paint your very own barn quilt—a bold, geometric work of art inspired by traditional quilt blocks. You’ll be guided through the entire process, from selecting a pattern to taping and painting your finished piece. No quilting or painting experience needed. In this workshop, you’ll create your own painted quilt square on a 11" x 11" wood panel.
What is a Barn Quilt?
Barn quilts are large, decorative quilt block patterns painted on wood and displayed on barns, homes, fences, or in gardens. The tradition began in Ohio in the early 2000s as a way to honor Appalachian quilting heritage and brighten rural landscapes. Today, barn quilts can be found across the country, forming scenic “quilt trails” that celebrate folk art, storytelling, and community spirit.
This class is open to ages 13+.
