In this beginner-friendly class, you'll learn the fundamentals of painting with gouache as we paint alongside local artist, Niko. Together we will paint a beautiful Fall tree.

Gouache is a a vibrant, versatile paint that flows like watercolor but layers like acrylic and in this class you'll learn foundational techniques for color mixing, layering, and expressive brushwork while bringing your pet's personality to life.

By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a finished painting you'll be proud to display, along with new painting skills and the confidence to continue exploring gouache at home.

Meet Your Instructor:

This workshop is being taught by Nikolette Robertson. You can call her Niko! Her primary medium is oil paint, but close second is gouache. She is passionate about creating spaces where everyone can tap into their creative side and experiment without the pressure being judged. Niko hosts a variety of different classes in Denton each month. When she isn't painting in her studio, you can find her trying all the best soup dumplings in DFW and spending time outside with her husband, daughter and dog.
