A Toast to Love- Our "Valentine's Day Drink" Recipe

Each year, for Valentine's Day, we like to celebrate as a whole family. I usually make a nice meal, including a fun dessert for our three kids. One year, we made pink soda floats with vanilla ice cream, which our kids found very exciting. My husband, Luis, also makes a cocktail for the grown-ups, and we have such a fun time celebrating as a family.

A few years ago, Luis made a cocktail that we affectionately named "The Valentine's Day Drink," and it's since become a staple for our celebration. It's not only easy to make, but the elderflower liqueur gives it a fancy, elevated flavor.

Luis is an excellent at-home bartender and has created many cocktail recipes, including all the printable recipes for our Camp Craft Cocktails. I asked him if he could share his Valentine's Day drink recipe, and he kindly agreed. This particular recipe has been adapted from Join Jules.

So, if you're searching for a festive and tasty drink to try this Valentine's Day, we have the perfect recipe for you!

INGREDIENTS
1.5 oz vodka of choice
3/4 oz elderflower liqueur (we use Combier Liqueur de Fleur de Sureau Elderflower because it’s a more budget-friendly option, but St. Germain is another great option)
1/2 oz simple syrup (One part hot water + one part sugar; stir until sugar dissolves and allow to cool)
3/4 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
Ice
Prosecco

INSTRUCTIONS
In a cocktail shaker, add the vodka, elderflower liqueur, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Add ice and give it a really good shake.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Top with Prosecco and garnish with a sliced strawberry heart for a festive effect.
