Show your school or team spirit in this hands-on painting workshop taught by Niko!

In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll create a custom 6×8 painting featuring your favorite university, school, or sports team logo, mascot, or iconic building. No drawing experience? No problem. We’ll use an easy transfer method with pastels to map out your design, so you can jump straight into painting with confidence.

Once your image is transferred, we’ll bring it to life using gouache, which is a vibrant, versatile paint that flows like watercolor but layers like acrylic. Along the way, you’ll learn foundational techniques for color mixing, layering, and brushwork, all while creating a piece that’s uniquely yours.

To make your experience smooth and personalized, please submit your chosen image (logo, mascot, or building) to our email (savannah@savviestudio.com) ahead of class so it can be prepared for transfer.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a finished artwork you’ll be proud to display, plus new skills you can continue to build on at home.

Meet Your Instructor:

This workshop is being taught by Nikolette Robertson. You can call her Niko! Her primary medium is oil paint, but close second is gouache. She is passionate about creating spaces where everyone can tap into their creative side and experiment without the pressure being judged. Niko hosts a variety of different classes in Denton each month. When she isn't painting in her studio, you can find her trying all the best soup dumplings in DFW and spending time outside with her husband, daughter and dog.
