Celebrate your furry (or feathered!) friend in this hands-on pet portrait painting workshop taught by Niko!
In this beginner-friendly class, you'll create a custom portrait of your beloved pet using gouache paint. No painting experience? No problem. Your pet will be lightly sketched onto the paper before class, so you can skip the drawing stage and jump right into painting with confidence.
Gouache is a a vibrant, versatile paint that flows like watercolor but layers like acrylic and in this class you'll learn foundational techniques for color mixing, layering, and expressive brushwork while bringing your pet's personality to life.
By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a finished portrait you'll be proud to display, along with new painting skills and the confidence to continue exploring gouache at home.

Meet Your Instructor:
This workshop is being taught by Nikolette Robertson. You can call her Niko! Her primary medium is oil paint, but close second is gouache. She is passionate about creating spaces where everyone can tap into their creative side and experiment without the pressure being judged. Niko hosts a variety of different classes in Denton each month. When she isn't painting in her studio, you can find her trying all the best soup dumplings in DFW and spending time outside with her husband, daughter and dog.
